Fairy-tale Formals

 I’m so excited about this new project! Camille reached out to me a few weeks ago, after years of prom dress collecting, she decided it’s time to start renting them out. Her gowns are all shapes and sizes and looking through them this week has made me really excited for this project.

I’ve been working hard on some social media set up, and website design, so these dresses are ready for rentals! The Instagram page was set up two weeks ago and this week we started posting! We are planning on posting once a week until the photo shoot has been completed and then will start following a regular posting routine. This is something Camille asked for since she will be the one learning the Instagram ropes.



I also started the website creation last week. While I started this with a lot of excitement I soon remembered how overwhelming it can be to start a website from scratch. However, I'm continuing to work on it and I'm excited for the pictures we will soon be adding to it!

The last thing we've been working on the past two weeks is a photo shoot. This week we booked the venue (Light Loft Studio) this week where we will be shooting at on October 29th. We've sent out a few invitations for girls to model and we have a few more to send. This is going to help us a lot! I'm looking forward to getting the products out and shot so that we can start to really sell them on all the platforms, rather then setting everything up. I'm excited to get some fantastic footage of all the gowns there are to offer!

Instagram and Website Progress

 We took a couple steps back this week. The website is coming along slower then we originally thought. However, we are having lots of fun posting on Instagram. The girls who came to model for us are also enjoying sharing our posts with their friends and highly recommending the dresses! Right now, our plan with Instagram is regular posting every week, and then posting more on weeks when school dances are coming up in the area. Camille is guessing that's when people will be looking for dance dresses anyways, so posting will increase sales. The website is complicated because each dress needs its own page and schedule and price. Making these takes a lot of time and patience so I've been doing my best to sit down and get all of those done so the website can go live! For now, Camille is taking care of rentals the old fashioned way, which is working fine until the website is finished.  Camille is excited to schedule her next photo shoot since we didn't even get close to finishing ...

The Clock Strikes Midnight

 I'm happy to report that all is done with Fairytale Formals! The clock struck midnight and its time for this girl in a ballgown to go home. Camille and I parted ways on this project on Wednesday and she said she couldn't be happier with our outcomes. Helping to create an online presence for Camille and her business was so rewarding and a lot of fun. I wanted to take some time today to share a quick overview of the project and everything we accomplished. Photo Shoot The first major thing we accomplished was a photo shoot with the dresses. We just wanted to get some shots of the dresses in use. We had a lot of fun renting a photo studio and getting some girls to come over and play dress up with us. These girls ended up having a huge part in sharing the photos afterwards as they told all their friends about this exciting new business. Springtime Event

 We held an event last week focused on the youth of Shine Performing Arts. This event is an annual event where the youth prepare performances and presentations to share with the community as well as their parents and other family members and friends. This event is sort of an end-of-year celebration to say goodbye to the graduating seniors, welcome in new students for next year and celebrate how far everyone has come and accomplished.  The event was canceled last year due to Covid-19 so we already knew there was a lot of excitement going into this event. We wanted it to be held outdoors so that we could let the maximum people attend the event.
