Event Planning

I'm really excited about everything that is coming together! Below you can see some of the adds we've been marketing on social media. Working with their marketing team and social media manager has been very enlightening. I am technically an intern through them and they assign me projects here and there. I come up with designs for ads or posts and some they like and some they don't. The ones they like get schedules into their regular postings and its fun to see my ads pop up on their page. Julie (the event planner) had me write up an email for our patrons reminding them about our Springtime Performance and Presentation Fair. We met with the photographer this week to talk about our expectations for the spring performance and presentation fair and what we'd like to see happen. We also met with the vendors for the the menu and food of the evening. There will be vendors to perchance food from, but we are providing a meal for the volunteers and performers. There are so many ...

Keep on Working

We started putting some ads together to use for the event! All of them are just sketches and I wish I'd snapped some pictures to share here. We outlines what we want each ad to look like and wrote out information that should go along with each ad. This is something that I really enjoy because its fun to brainstorm and bounce ideas off of people. As I was networking with some people in the theater community someone mentioned a marketing position at another theater. Its not paid but it would be a great internship for me to continue learning and getting experience, so I applied for that! We are busy posting pictures each week from what the kids are working on to get people excited online for our event that is coming up!

Dazzling Decorations

This week we got the supplies for our other decorative piece! This blue arch is looking really fantastic with the fairy lights and fabric. I'm really pleased with how this is turning out so far. At our most recent meeting we talked about performers and speeches for the event and decided what our plan is for guest arriving as we still need to follow the covid-19 restrictions in our area. Guest should stay 6 feet apart. We sketched up a design for signage and informational posters to help the guest feel safe and informed at our event! Below are the pictures for the blue arch and some outfits we picked out for the performers.

Planning and Preparing.

This first part of the project has been really fun. I've been able to meet the kids I'll be working with as well as grab some pictures for the social media page. Watching the kids prepare for their spring event is helping me get an idea for what type of feel the event should have. I have managed to find and book a location and we are excited to start moving things there as we continue to prepare for this event! We started working on some of the decorations for the event. Here is a picture of one of the arches I've designed and created: Here are some pictures I've captured for advertising on social media. These kids are performing during their event and its fun to watch them practice! The event will be held outdoors so we are working on planning for any problems that could happen. Weather, lighting, and technology can be harder to work with then an indoor space, but I'm happy to be working with a group of people who are used to planning and prepared ahead of time so...
