The Final Product

The past few months I undertook a project that I was very hopeful and excited for. The purpose of this project was to help 2 The Sunny Side with their social media, more specifically their Instagram account. 2 The Sunny Side was struggling to connect with their audience, gain more followers and learn more about reels.

Out biggest challenge was switching from the school year into the summer. They started losing followers, we went from 700 followers to 500. It was very discouraging and we were worried about what was going to happen with the account. We decided to analyze the posting times again so we could change according to peoples schedules. That helped a lot!

My part of the project was helping out! First, we met to work out a posting plan. They had never worked out a calendar for posting before. They just decided day of and went with that. When I presented what I knew about a posting calendar they were thrilled! This ended up helping a lot because we were able to plan far in advance for content and hashtag purposes. Next, I took over the account for a couple weeks to help them figure out good posting times, good hashtags and to show them how I'd do it! After a couple weeks they took back over and I helped them look through their analytics and taught them how to analyze what they were doing.

I had such a learning experience! It was fantastic to work with a small business who was still learning. I was able to share things I knew and learn new things from them. Social media is always changing and its great to share that experience with great ladies like the ones who run 2 The Sunny Side. Through this experience we were able to get them up to 1,700 followers which you can see above! I'm so happy with this final product and the posts I was able to help with. I feel like they are at a great pace continuing on without me.

Instagram and Website Progress

We took a couple steps back this week. The website is coming along slower then we originally thought. However, we are having lots of fun posting on Instagram. The girls who came to model for us are also enjoying sharing our posts with their friends and highly recommending the dresses! Right now, our plan with Instagram is regular posting every week, and then posting more on weeks when school dances are coming up in the area. Camille is guessing that's when people will be looking for dance dresses anyways, so posting will increase sales. The website is complicated because each dress needs its own page and schedule and price. Making these takes a lot of time and patience so I've been doing my best to sit down and get all of those done so the website can go live! For now, Camille is taking care of rentals the old fashioned way, which is working fine until the website is finished.  Camille is excited to schedule her next photo shoot since we didn't even get close to finishing ...

The Clock Strikes Midnight

I'm happy to report that all is done with Fairytale Formals! The clock struck midnight and its time for this girl in a ballgown to go home. Camille and I parted ways on this project on Wednesday and she said she couldn't be happier with our outcomes. Helping to create an online presence for Camille and her business was so rewarding and a lot of fun. I wanted to take some time today to share a quick overview of the project and everything we accomplished. Photo Shoot The first major thing we accomplished was a photo shoot with the dresses. We just wanted to get some shots of the dresses in use. We had a lot of fun renting a photo studio and getting some girls to come over and play dress up with us. These girls ended up having a huge part in sharing the photos afterwards as they told all their friends about this exciting new business. The photos turned out really good as well but we just didn't have enough time for what we needed to shoot. So after the photo shoot we booked a...

Springtime Event

We held an event last week focused on the youth of Shine Performing Arts. This event is an annual event where the youth prepare performances and presentations to share with the community as well as their parents and other family members and friends. This event is sort of an end-of-year celebration to say goodbye to the graduating seniors, welcome in new students for next year and celebrate how far everyone has come and accomplished.  The event was canceled last year due to Covid-19 so we already knew there was a lot of excitement going into this event. We wanted it to be held outdoors so that we could let the maximum people attend the event. Because of our location we were able to keep social distancing rules while people enjoyed the food and entertainment for the evening.  Our biggest concern was the weather because it was the outdoor event, there were so many times where we thought the weather would come through, but as event managers and specialists, we came up with m...
